(Breezy)
Seeing is believing
Watch how you're speaking
Haters on beef
Till they're ironed out, vegan
Girl you got the sauce
Can't move pasta
Never been a fake
Or a phoney Imposter
Say you got the
D, d, drip…
How you have that
Corner boy still reeking of ganga
Mummzy's golden child
Puffing on silver haze
Hmm, true say, you've seen better days
Anything I'm grabbing baby
Know that it's for keeps
Got to refocus switch up the scene
Made me reshoot the shot for these dreams
That's a stretch, that's a reach,
'Til you believe,
We could take struggle
But I'd rather take chances
Anything in life
Can be made an advantage
I've got peace with the peaceful
You know what I mean
Oya, get clicked in
(Danny)
Got me Believing
In something
(King Koko)
2020 everything kinda scary
Coronavirus got people buried
Threats of World War 3
RIP Kobe
Mad earthquakes happened in Turkey but
I'm just doin me tryina better myself
Busy gettin money gettin racks on the shelf
Mama told me to forget her
Told me not to sweat her
Haters stay cheesy might call them cheddar
Look me, I ain't no basic chick,
My bars complex like arithmetic
Believe me when I say get a walking stick
Cos my haters stumble when I speak legit
Bring the sauce girls stay dry
My work is fire
Don't mean July
Can't compete with me baby nice try
King Koko's wordplay
Will leave you tongue tied
(Danny)
Give me good feeling
You've got me smiling again
(Grainne)
Believing
Don't go leaving
(Danny)
Now I'm believing
Something you do
You've got me
You've got me smiling again
I'm gonna get it
(Grainne)
I'm gonna get it
(0phelia)
Exalt as yer default, for all people
Particularly for individual freedom(s)
No need to believe. We're all destined to feel the free fall
No need to worry. There's No finish line we can foreseeeee
And nothing is bigger than that
Invite a tiger on your path for a wrestling match
Just the perfect habitat for a dip-il-omat
With the necessity to throw the hands like an acrobat
Take a bow, Take a stand but make sure you can receive
love increase your capacity love
kindle kinship with distinction
Stimulate connections inextinguishable …
And nothing is truer perhaps
I betch've moments that ye snapped cause ye couldn't relax
What we become we attract It's a science exact
Ye can perceive it as you will but it's a matter of fact

D.A.R.L.I.N.G
Feel just like a K.I.N.G.
I B.E.L.I.E.V.E
My only number O.N.E
Okay, come keep me company baby
You know I can’t stand the cold
Of this winter blues
That I just can’t comprehend
If I was to love you, would we stand a chance?
I dig this high chemistry darling
Cos baby I’m on cloud nine ‘cos of you, cos of you baby
Baby you’ve got my mind and my soul,
And my body too, it’s all for you
I’ll be the trees, you can be the wind,
Rocking night and day, back and forth, intertwined as we sway,
Ooh darling, it’s Y.O.U. and me
D.A.R.L.I.N.G
Feel just like a K.I.N.G.
I B.E.L.I.E.V.E
My only number O.N.E
You know I love you like cook food
Stew peas with the spinners
And the thyme twigs,
I'm talkin' good food
Already know I been hooked too
Chant ya name like Rufio, or a hook boo
Heart got Juxed too, robbed like crooks do
Keep me on my whole damn tip toe
I never been on that Hotep tip though
But you got me feelin' like Dr. Umar with the red eyes
Yes I'm, cuffin' in a Kufi just to hold that Miss though
King this, Queen that, really do we mean that
Just some similes that, signify
The feelin' I, get when we intertwine and combine
On the minds level, and we need that
Never play the bassline like that Flea cat
Max levels where we be at
You the prime numero uno, the O-N-E believe that
My D.A.R.L.I.N.G
Feel just like a K.I.N.G.
I B.E.L.I.E.V.E
My only number O.N.E

MAKE ME FEEL (BELIEVING)
'Make Me Feel (Believing)' from Danny Groenland featuring an all-star cast of Irish hip-hop artists. Breezy Ideygoke, 0phelia & King Koko provide the verses. The track is a rework of the song 'Believing' feat. Gráinne McCarthy, reimagined by producer JusMe, using samples & audio stems of the original to create something entirely new. The instrumental version is exclusive to Bandcamp.
Danny: "I'd been a fan of Breezy's for ages. I worked with 0phelia on my first album, and DJ Stevie G put me onto King Koko. I reached out to them and everything was recorded remotely. We've got 3 completely different rap verses, each with their own unique personality, energy and style. 0phelia got beatmaker and skratchologist JusMe involved which was a gamechanger - he transformed the instrumental, and I sprinkled some of my original vocals and flute from our track 'Believing' on top of his production. What we've ended up with is a feelgood summer banger with a positive message.
The intro features interviews with Sinead O'Connor (2020 - talking about her mental health) and Seamus Heaney (1995 - speaking about his Nobel prize). The two clips struck me in different ways, O'Connor's for the bravery and power of her words "we're all going through these things". And Heaney although he's speaking in '95, could be describing today's lockdown in Ireland - "a new mood in the country that promises new energy". Even though there is this frustration and anxiety at not being able to play live music, it also seems like Irish artists are on a creative high right now, particularly in the Soul / Hip-hop arena. The struggles of lockdown can force you to get to work DIY style and find new ways of making music, and for me this track is a perfect example of that."

D.A.R.L.I.N.G.
'D.A.R.L.I.N.G.' single from Danny Groenland feat. Tolü Makay & Jamel Franklin (Shy Mascot).
D.A.R.L.I.N.G. evokes the complex feelings of love and longing that are both strained and strengthened by distance. This song was written and recorded in isolation.
Danny: "The genesis of this collaboration came from my group playing gigs with both Jamel (Shy Mascot) and Tolü, I was already a huge fan of both artists. I had the song's chorus and the beat - it gave me an early 2000's Neosoul vibe. Tolü and Jamel wrote their verses, the Major 7ths added their parts and the song came together really organically."
The track features musical contributions by long-time collaborators The Major 7ths (Graham Heaney on bass, Dennis Cassidy on beats and Johnny Taylor on piano).
The music video was recorded by friends of the artists and represents their different reactions on a video call to a loved one in isolation. See if you can spot some familiar faces* among the 49 people (and 1 cat).
